Gemming was a very confusing concept for tanks originally. We would have gear with socket bonuses that wouldn’t match up with the statistics we needed. We also had the concern of crushing blows, which in turn pushed all of us into stacking stamina gems. And much like the rest of the game this changes with the release of 3.0 tomorrow and even more so with the release of WotLK. After the jump I’ll be discussion how your gems might change immediately, along with the view of gemming for the long run.

With the many changes to warriors and other tanking classes, warriors won’t be guaranteed MT position simply based off their class but rather on their gear and skill, a philosophy Blizzard has been running with throughout the WotLK beta. And I feel that this is a great opportunity for all classes to see how the other half lived in BC. After the jump, see why I think our class may be one of the best OTs going into WotLK.

So, I went into a five day hiatus from the blog even though I wanted to put out a post a day up until Wrath…obviously that didn’t last! However, all that time off did allow me to get other things done involved with WoW. Now, with only one week to go until patch day, what might i be trying to do to prepare for Wrath? In the last couple of days I have touched on numerous stats that affect combat. Those stats were parry, dodge, block, and defense. Defense all three of those previous stats but it also decreases the chance to be crit and increase the chance to be missed. From those five items mentioned there are only a few things missing to fill out what is known as the attack table, those items are glancing blows, crushing blows , and ordinary hits. Now that we know what is on the attack table, I can explain what and how the attack table works…
